Woman hurt in Ribchester car smash

FIREFIGHTERS cut a woman free from her car after it overturned in Ribchester last night (Monday).

According to firefighters the woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, hit a wall before the car overturned and landed on its roof.

Police arrived at Gallows Lane, Ribchester, at around 5-45 p.m. and discovered the wheels of the red Ford Fiesta spinning with the driver trapped inside.

Firefighters quickly cut her out before she was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

The road was blocked while investigations were carried out and the vehicle was recovered.
