Two people were taken to hospital following a road accident.

Two fire engines from Clitheroe and Barnoldswick attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A49 at Sawley, near Clitheroe, on Saturday after 4pm.

A fire service spokesman said two casualties were released from the vehicles by both firefighters and paramedics and taken to hospital.
