It’ll be all aboard for model railway lovers soon when Clitheroe stages its second model railway show to be staged in the town in the past 30 years.
Following on from their successful event in 2013, members of Blackburn and East Lancashire Model Railway Society will be bringing a succession of layouts in various gauges including 00 and N Gauge to St Mary’s Centre, Church Brow, for the weekend of Saturday July 11th and Sunday July 12th. And the event will include a Thomas The Tank Engine layout for the younger visitors.
There will also be trade stands and demonstrations of modelling techniques.
The show is open from 10 am to 5 pm on the Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on the Sunday and admission is just £2-50 for adults with accompanied children free (unaccompanied children £1).
Society publicity spokesman Howard Foy said: “We had around 800 visitors at our last show in 2013 from near and far and we hope to build on that success this year. St Mary’s Centre is a great venue for the event, being right in the centre of town.”
