The A59 at the Abattoir in the Ribble Valley is closed from Sawley at the junction Bolton-by-Bowland.

Police made the decision to close the road due to the extremely wet conditions and spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We appreciate this may add some distance to your journey but it is better than being stranded."
