A graduate who impressed a Lancashire bus operator when he was on work experience has landed a full-time job with the company.
Alex Spencer took a trainee position at Transdev after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a degree in geography.

The 22-year-old had previously done work experience with the company and impressed bosses at the company with his dissertation which examined passenger habits.
The company supported Alex by using the results from his university work which he presented to them. Since joining as a trainee, Alex has been promoted to commercial assistant at the Burnley and Pendle depot.
The former Clitheroe Royal Grammar School pupil’s role is focused around planning and bus operations, including creating timetables and organising crews and drivers for the company’s six depots.
He said: “I have always been interested in transport and I did the placement to find out if I would enjoy working in the industry.
“That was in my first year of university and then a job was advertised as I was leaving – it couldn’t have been better timing. It helped that I had knowledge of the company but I am still learning every day.”
Richard Jackson, Transdev’s development director, said: “Alex is a great addition to our team. He has showed real passion and enthusiasm and spent a great deal of time researching our network and passenger habits, making him very well placed to ensure we deliver what the customers want. He certainly has a bright future ahead of him.”
