A56 partially closed after grass fire

Drivers using the A56 have been advised to allow extra time for their journey this morning following a grass fire.

One lane currently remains closed on the southbound carriageway between the M65 at junction 8 near Accrington and Rising Bridge.

More than 40 firefighters spent the Thursday evening tackling a grass fire in fields near to the road.

Drivers are warned to expect possible delays through rush hour.
