Chamber members were brought to their feet for a non-stop dancing night, full of laughter and entertainment.
Black hats and sunglasses were out in force when “The Music of the Blues Brothers” tribute act wowed members and guests of Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce who celebrated in style at their annual ball.
Held at the Swan and Royal Hotel, in Castle St, courtesy of Landlord Terry and Carol Joy and their staff, the evening was a huge success.
Chamber president Daniel Williams, who runs Sawley Studios, paid tribute to the hard work of the traders who have raised hundreds for charity. “Over the Chamber’s Christmas Festival weekend in December, the Chamber raised £718 for the North West Air Ambulance, which has been the president’s charity this year. The ball has become a fixture on our calendar and gives us an opportunity to celebrate the generosity of the local businesses.”
After tucking into a delicious three-course meal, members and their guests enjoyed a musical treat with hits from the Blues Brother’s film thanks to popular tribute band “The Music of the Blues Brothers” featuring Gaz Jenkins as Jake Blues and Kieran Sims as Elwood Blues.
Daniel added: “Businesses have been incredibly supportive with both ticket sales for the ball and numerous raffle prizes and I would like to pay particular thanks to Katie Winstanley, of Megabites, Moor Lane, and Owen Philips from Ribcaged, who organised this magnificent evening of song and dance. It has been a privilege to lead the Chamber for three successive terms as president and to support various charities throughout the last three years as the Chamber celebrated over 90 years of continuous local service.”
