Top marks given out for a great quiz year
Andrew Kerin, the retiring secretary, thanked everyone who had participated to the league during the season, especially those who had set quizzes, all the host pubs and clubs for their hospitality, and Maureen Smith for organising the successful charity quiz night.
He also paid tribute to Joyce Torkington, a highly esteemed played who had died during the year.

Mike Smith, the fixtures and results coordinator, reported on a smooth running season.
The General Williams Clarets were unbeaten throughout the season winning the League Championship for the second year running, the Knockout Competition, the Charity Cup and the new Trial Competition.
The Woodman took the runners-up trophy for the second year.

Hide AdThe Belvedere excelled by scooping up the handicap trophy for the third year in a row.
Mike said that the inclusion of the Pendle League teams in the Knockout Competition had continued to go well and this year saw the Crown Hotel, Colne, reach the final.
David Atkinson was praised for his work as creator and coordinator of the website and Dean Riches for his reporting of the results to the local papers.
The League is keen to have new people join so an invitation is extended to anyone interested in either joining an existing quiz team or entering a new team in the league.
