Teenager cut from car after accident on A59

A thirteen-year-old was cut from a car by fire crews after a two car collision near to the Whalley roundabout on the A59.

The incident happened at around 5 pm yesterday evening (Tuesday) and resulted in the road being closed for approximately 30 minutes as fire fighters worked to remove the car roof to free the teenager, who was in the back seat.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital with suspected back and neck injuries.
