Aspiring young hairdressers and beauty therapists at St Augustine’s High School, Billington, spent four Saturday mornings at Blackburn College’s Hair and Beauty department to learn skills including “hair ups”, plaiting, make-up and mini-facials.
The pupils (from left) Zara Booth, Charlotte Sheridan and Lucy Kenyon received awards to prove what they had learned skills. The event offered students a taste of what like is life on a course at the college.
Beauty lecturer Cheryl Standing said: “They were all forthcoming and enthusiastic; they all participated and seemed to really enjoy it. The college has hair and beauty training salons for teenagers and adults.”
