Stranded pupils' ice lolly treats from their very own Good Samaritans

The classmates from St Mary Magdalene's RC Primary School in Burnley were on their way to the Jorvik Viking Centre in York when their coach ran into problems close to Broughton Hall at Skipton.

In blistering heat two kind chaps who were carrying out decorating work at the hall came to the rescue supplying the year four pupils and teachers with drinks and ice creams.

And the owner of Broughton Hall himself, Roger Tempest, came to check the children were all safe and he offered use of the hall for drinks.

Teaching assistant Mrs Kelly Loftus said the school wanted to highlight this act of kindness and thank the chaps who came to to their aid, who are Anthony Allan of Shades Decorators and his workmate who they only know as Bo.

Teaching assistant Mrs Kelly Loftus said: "We wanted to highlight this act of kindness and show that it still does exist, especially considering the awful things that are happening in our country at the moment.

"And the school would like to publicly thank these very kind gentlemen for what they did that day."
