May has again rolled round bringing with it the ever-popular Chipping Steam Fair.

Set in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, the fair takes place over the second May Bank Holiday weekend every year and is now just a week away.

Last year’s fair saw a weekend of sunshine and everything ran like clockwork, thanks to the volunteers who spend all year preparing for the three day extravaganza.

In the full spirit of the show, the 2016 was compared to a well oiled machine, well worth the hard work with all proceeds going to local good causes.

The event is enjoyed by tens of thousands of visitors who come back year after year to partake in the unique experience.

This year will be the 19th show with the usual mix of unique acts for the arena entertainment, interesting and excellent catering and improved information via the website, with a full social media presence.

Hundreds of exhibitors are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to show off their wares and the traditional showcase of steam traction engines, vintage tractors, classic cars and motorcycles, pedal cycles, classic plant, commercial and military vehicles will provide the whole package for a great day out for visitors.

Other regular attractions include live musical entertainment in the beer tent (until late Saturday and Sunday), the funfair, craft fair, food hall, arena entertainment, ride on children’s train, puppet shows, donkey rides, demonstrations and the ever popular digger playpen.
