Stamps in Read collected for charity

StampsUsed postage stamps, which are collected to support various charities, can be left at the back of St John's Church, Read, where they will be gathered on a regular basis to benefit several charities.

Fund-raisingAn evening of comedy, music and fun will be held in St John's School hall, Read, on Friday, February 11th. "That's Entertainment" will raise funds for the school and a donation from the proceeds will be made to Read Scout Andrew Haworth to help him fund his trip to Sweden in July where he has been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree. Andrew is only the second Scout from Read to have been chosen to represent his country in the world of Scouting and has been working hard to raise money to pay for his trip.

The evening will begin at 7-30 p.m. and tickets cost 3 for adults, 2 for children, available from Read Library, Read Pharmacy or tel. 01282 773984 or 770528.
