A cheque for £300 was presented to staff and pupils from a specialist school after its brand new bus was stolen.

Staff and pupils from Broadfield Specialist School at Oswaldtwistle were presented with the cheque at the Swan with Two Necks at Pendleton.

For the past 25 years a Carols in the Pub evening has raised money for local charities and on hearing that a brand new bus fitted out for the disabled had been stolen it was decided to donate the money collected on the carols night to the school.

Steve and Christine Dilworth, who own the Swan with Two Necks, plus Father Roland Nicholson have organised the fundraiser for years.
