Special constable in court for using car ‘as a weapon’
Blackburn magistrates heard the 18 year-old rider and his 12 year-old passenger both suffered minor injuries after the bike collided with the unmarked car driven by Andrew William Blades in Lower Mead Drive on May 27th.
Blades was in the car with two other special constables who were all on duty.

Hide AdMr Dominic Howell (prosecuting) told the court even a trained police pursuit driver would not have used a car “effectively as a weapon” to try and stop a motorbike.
Blades (37) of Verax Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.
He was remanded on bail until November 30th for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
