Clitheroe Fairtrade Group is hosting its annual Fairtrade market at The Grand in Clitheroe this Saturday.
This annual pre-Christmas event has proved to be very popular in the town with people of all ages by offering something for everyone.
At the market, there will be stalls selling a selection of Fairtrade certified foods, together with fairly-traded handcrafted gifts, decorations, cards, jewellery and accessories, all produced in the developing world. This year the event will also include stalls selling unique local sustainable crafts, plus charity stands and the ever-popular fund-raising Fairtrade tombola.
The Clitheroe Fairtrade Group will give visitors the opportunity to taste a variety of different types of Fairtrade food products available through Traidcraft and there will be an information stand about Fairtrade which highlights the benefits to producers, their communities and families, in poorer countries around the world, together with ideas on how individuals, schools and workplaces in Clitheroe can support Fairtrade.
The Grand café will be serving seasonal refreshments and visitors will be entertained during the morning by carol singing from Chatburn Primary School, Waddington and West Bradford Primary School and St James' CE Primary School choirs.
The Clitheroe Fairtrade Group, which is run by a small group of volunteers, would welcome more help. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Katy Holden on 07789 341720.
