Rare vacancies have arisen in a highly acclaimed group of singers.

As the “A Cappella Singers” embark on their 21st season there are rare vacancies in the bass section of the group.

Due to illness and retirements the singers are looking to appoint three new members who would sing as basses in the men’s section. The group is looking for two first and one second base. All performers must be able to read music, but not be perfectly. Consideration could be given to anyone from other voices, but at present, the three other areas are well covered.

This highly acclaimed group of singers perform in three major concerts each year, plus one or two extra performances as required. The past season included an extra concert in Great Harwood and a live broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire.

Plans for the coming season are now well in hand and preparations are now being made for three major concerts and provisionally a further live broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire closer to Christmas.

The singers only aim for quality and rehearse each Wednesday from September. They meet in Wilpshire on Wednesday evenings for rehearsals and finish their season usually at the end of June.

All members are supplied with music with no further charges being made for any hire costs.

Anyone who would like to be considered to join the “A Cappella Singers” or anyone requiring further information, can call the group’s secretary on 01254 249280 or email the press officer:
