Shot Burnley PC’s serious injuries
PC Suzanne Hudson, who went to Mansfield High School, in Brierfield, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries to her face, neck and hand when she attended a routine neighbourhood call along with a colleague.
A 37-year-old man from Leeds has appeared before magistrates in the city accused of shooting PC Hudson, a former Leeds University student, and attempting to kill the officer she was with, PC Richard Whiteley.

Hide AdJames Leslie, of Queenswood Drive, stood in the glass-fronted dock for the three-minute hearing flanked by two women security guards.
Dressed in a navy blue jumper and blue trousers, he spoke only to confirm his personal details.
As well as two counts of attempted murder, he is also charged with possessing a firearm, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, criminal damage to a bathroom window and possessing cannabis.
He was remanded in custody to appear again at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, December 20th.
