A second springer spaniel dog that was taken during the recent theft of a Land Rover Defender has been reunited with its owners.
The first springer spaniel Dan, who was in the back of builder and part-time gamekeeper Charly Nutter’s dark green Land Rover Defender when it was stolen from outside The Eagle at Barrow on Wednesday January 6th, was found in Gloucester and reunited with his owners last Wednesday.
However, the whereabouts of the Nutter’s second springer spaniel dog Finn remained unknown until yesterday when he too was found.
Charly was making a delivery of birds to the back entrance of The Eagle at Barrow and had turned his back for just minutes to fill crates when thieves drove off in the Land Rover with the two dogs in the back.
Following the theft, an article in the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times and posted on our Facebook page went viral being shared more than 1,600 times and reaching an audience of more than 13,000 people.
The family have since praised the public for their response to the appeal.
The police are still keen to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident and the vehicle’s whereabouts.
The Land Rover, registration number YE64 WNN, is a very distinctive “working” Land Rover and has a spare wheel on the back. It also has a roof rack and is kitted out to carry tools. Anyone with information should contact the police by calling 101.
