Last weekend saw the welcome return of Waddington’s famous Scarecrow Festival and village duck race.
Hundreds of visitors descended on the picturesque valley village throughout the weekend to view this year’s many and varied entries, which were themed around children’s books.
Sunday’s main event was the village duck race, with the main event preceded by the sponsors and painted duck races. Ducks were released from the start line in the middle of the village brook and then swum downstream to the finish line at the bottom of the village.
A mini food festival was held at Waddington Social Club, with stalls offering local produce from chocolate and cakes to artisan bread, meats and cheeses.
