Work to build a long-awaited roundabout at Clitheroe’s Pendle Road junction with the A59 should be starting at the end of this month.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: “We’re currently in the process of appointing a contractor to construct the new roundabout, and anticipate them starting work towards the end of June.
“Once a contractor is in place we’ll be able to confirm a date for work to start and let people know more about how traffic will be managed while the work is ongoing.”
It is envisaged that work on this major project could take up to six months to complete and that Pendle Road will be closed for the duration of the work.
Prior to work starting on the roundabout, work to move services will be carried out, but this should create only minor disruption.
