Clitheroe Town Crier Roland Hailwood is back home safe and well after a stint in the cells at Lancaster Castle.

Volunteers including Roland and The High Sheriff of Lancashire, Barry Johnson, were imprisoned to raise money for the charity Action for Children (formerly National Children’s Homes). The volunteers were charged to raise money to secure their release and allowed to keep hold of their mobile phones to help them in their charitable quest and were also given a tour of the old jail, including the area where the Lancashire Witches were imprisoned.
