Children at Brennand’s Endowed Primary School in Slaidburn took part in a sponsored Race for Life raising £1,480 for Cancer Research UK.

The children were encouraged to wear something pink or blue, and all filled in a race card showing who they were running for.

Many children shared their stories of how cancer had affected those around them and it was touching to see how many children were running for family members and friends.

The children eagerly embraced the challenge and completed the mile circuit in a neighbouring field.

Parents and staff also took part, being put through their paces by the children!
