Valley students have been celebrating the culmination of two years’ hard work as the wait for their GCSE results was finally over!

And many had stars in their eyes as they achieved top grades in the subjects they had studied.

Headteachers have paid particular tribute to the dedication of all their pupils as they have had to face changes to the way their GCSE exams have been assessed.

Instead of being modular, the GCSEs were awarded based on the end of second year exams.

Nationally the number of exams graded at least a C increased by 0.7% to 68.8%.
