A Ribble Valley pub has been named as one of the UK’s top 100 restaurants.
The Parker’s Arms in the remote hamlet of Newton in Bowland has been included on the coveted list compiled for the National Restaurant Awards by more than 150 industry experts,
How high The Parkers Arms will be in the Top 100 will not be revealed until the awards evening next Monday at London’s private Hurlingham Club.
However, just being on the list is a huge achievement, said Chef-Patron Stosie Madi, who runs the pub with business partner Kathy Smith, who is Managing Director.
Stosie said:“This is a biggie. We are a country pub in the middle of nowhere. Although we’ve won many awards this is something I would never have imagined - never in my wildest dreams.”
The Parkers Arms menu is based on seasonal local Bowland ingredients, offering hearty regional and global fare, including its signature hand-raised pies and pasties.
The Parkers Arms has collected a host of accolades, including Top 50 Gastropub 2016.
