Residents of Park Avenue in Clitheroe celebrated Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday with a traditional street party.
The avenue was decked out with bunting and Union flags, while youngsters painted Union flags on their cheeks and decorated cupcakes.
Prior to Sunday, a fundraising coffee evening, which included a raffle for five luxury hampers, was held. There was also a Royal quiz before the event.
On Sunday, there was a decorated bicycle competition as well as a decorated soft toy and colouring competition for the children. For the ladies there was a decorated crown competition and for the men, a knobbly knees competition.
A family mini sports day was followed by a Jacob’s Join buffet.
Despite the heavens opening at around 4-30 pm bringing the party to an abrupt end the consensus of opinion was that the whole event had been a great success. And a total of £280 was raised which will be sent to the North West Air Ambulance.
