Pupils plan to '˜eat happy' with new garden
The transformation of a patch of grass into raised bed areas packed with fruit and vegetables, a seating area and brightly coloured planters, at Christ the King RC Primary School in Calderbrook Avenue, was made possible thanks to a group of Tesco store managers, commmuity champions and maintenance staff.
They all worked together under the banner of the Burnley Extra stores community project.

Hide AdVolunteers from stores across East Lancashire pitched in to help with Burnley store manager Tom Mollekin leading the project.
Staff and children now have the task of watching the fruits of their labours grow and flourish.
They have their own potting table and compost bins too in the garden that is already starting to flourish. The scheme is part of a partnership between Tesco the Eat Happy Project which aims to give children a better understanding and relationship with their food. And there is no better way than to plant seeds, watch them grow then sit back and enjoy
