£650,000 raised for new Clitheroe Royal Grammar School sports hall
The school’s alumni, “friends” of the school and parents have contributed more than £30,000 to the school’s fund-raising campaign.
And counting the match-funding from a generous anonymous donor, plus gift aid, this total stands at £75,000 plus so far.

A sponsored walk, called the Walk With Us campaign, was also held recently by pupils in Year 7 to Year 10.
More than 50 members of staff and 480 students completed the 10-mile walk through Clitheroe, Waddington, West Bradford and Chatburn over a varied terrain during a whole day, stopping off for lunch at Chatburn Cricket Club.
Each pupil was encouraged to collect £25 sponsorship to help the school raise more than £10,000.

Head of PE Jamie Alcock said: “The ‘Walk With Us’ campaign was enjoyed by all. Students and staff embraced the fund-raising appeal with great enthusiasm and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made a contribution.”
More fund-raising events organised by sixth form students are in the pipeline.
Dr Andy Clayton, the school’s chairman of governors and campaign leader, said he feels certain that there will soon be enough funding to start work on the project at the school’s Chatburn Road site. It is envisaged that work will be carried out during the autumn term.
