A four-year-old from Clitheroe is staging a sponsored fancy dress walk to raise funds for under privileged children across the world.
Poppy Mai Dalby, of Salthill Road, will hold the fund raiser on Sunday, May 4th, from Clitheroe Castle park at 1 pm with a 1-30 pm prompt start.
The daughter of Emma Taylor and her partner, local barber Michael Dalby, Poppy, is raising funds for the Rainbow Child Foundation.
The youngster is already being sponsored by Clitheroe hair stylist Joseph Lanzante who specialises in barber and shaving courses.
The Brookside Primary School pupil has been selected to represent the North- West as the international Face of the Globe 2014, an annual beauty pageant, the finals of which will held at Disneyland Paris in October.
As part of the process Poppy has to raise as much as she can for the pageant’s chosen cause, the Rainbow Child Foundation.
The walk is two miles long and will have a fancy dress theme for the children who take part to raise awareness about the foundation.
The fundraising is just a small part of the role Poppy will be playing at the pageant, the heats of which will be held on Saturday, May 10th, in Chester during which Poppy will have her chance to shine.
