Police witness appeal after motorcyclist injured in crash near Bolton-by-Bowland

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near Bolton-by-Bowland.

The accident happened at around 10-30 am on Sunday May 22nd when a motorcycle was travelling along Forest Becks Brow and failed to negotiate a left hand bend. It is believed he has collided with a Volvo C70 which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man from Blackburn, sustained injuries to his spine, ribs, pelvis and leg and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital. His condition is described as poorly, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

PS Claire Pearson, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “The motorcyclist has sustained some serious injuries as a result of this collision which happened on a rural road. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed what happened.”
