The police haven't given up hope yet that this ring can be found.

Ribble Valley Police issued an appeal on their Facebook page earlier this month after the woman, who has been married since 1952, lost her ring.

The woman believes she may have lost it in the Castle View/Booths supermarket area of the town on Friday, January 11th.

At the time, Ribble Valley PCSO Katie Ferguson said the monetary value of the plain ring, which is 22ct gold, is mere pounds, "but in terms of sentiment it is priceless".

However, despite the original appeal which was shared 1,300 times on Facebook, the ring still hasn't been found.

PCSO Ferguson added: "We wouldn't normally deal with an incident of lost property, but this is such a heart wrenching tale and it would be great if the ring can be found for this woman."

Anyone with information about the lost ring is asked to call Clitheroe Police on 01200 458766.
