Jolie Forrest (11) and her mum Jodie were thrilled when their routine, performed to the song Say So by Doja Cat, won the parent and child category of the contest run by Iconic Street Dance Competitions.

Their epic routine, which has now clocked up an amazing 16,000 views, was choregraphed by Jolie who attends Dynamic Dance Studio and it was owner Lorna Digger who encouraged the duo to enter the competition.

Jodie, who is a hairstylist at Vanilla in Padiham, said: "Jolie made up the routine and drilled me, I wasn't allowed to sit down!"

The talented duo even received celebrity backing from top dancer Louie Spence, West End star Brenda Edwards and Liverpool actress and dance school owner Jennifer Ellison. The trio are all close friends of Jodie's brother, Andrew Derbyshire, a former Padiham man who is now a successful singer and performer based in London

After making it into the top five the public were then given the opportunity to vote for their winner using the 'like' system on facebook.

Jodie, who is married to Adam and has a younger daughter Trixie, who is four, said: "We had the best support from our home town and also so many people in Burnley and also all our friends in London and I would like to send out a big thank you."

And the win was an early birthday present for Shuttleworth Community College student Jolie who turns 12 next week.
