"Over the years we have had a number of break-ins but this is the first time anyone has broken in through the front of the salon.

"They were taking a chance as the salon looks onto a busy road and we believe the thief was disturbed by someone."

The thief, who was caught on CCTV, caused around £1,000 worth of damage to the premises which had to remain closed on one of it's busiest days, a blow indeed for the team who had only re-opened their doors on July 4th after the Covid 19 lockdown.

Damage to the till will cost hundreds of pounds to repair and the team will face a bill of around £600 to replace the glass door. The culprit stole £40 in cash.

Angela added: "The drawers on the till were rived open and glass was scattered everywhere. This was really annoying as we usually leave it open with no money in the drawers.

"We don't stock GHD straighteners to sell anymore because of incidents like this."

Angela said that the salon's clients had been very understanding after the trio had to spend Saturday getting in touch with them to rearrange appointments.
