Delight for champion fundraisers as lockdown easing allows them to hold 'pop up' shop in Burnley

A long established group of champion fund raisers in Burnley can finally get out and do what they do best this weekend.

The Burnley Mayoress's fundraising committee will hold a 'pop up' shop in the town centre on Saturday from 10am.

It will be sited in Curzon Street, next to the Marks and Spencer store, and will be selling a variety of goods, from pamper products and stuffed toys to general household items.

To keep youngsters entertained there will be a game of dice with a prize every time. Committee members will be running the shop with the Mayoress Anam Khan and all the money raised will go towards the Mayor of Burnley's charity.

The current mayor, Coun.Wajid Khan, is the town's youngest ever civic head, and, during his year in office, he has raised money for community and voluntary groups across the borough in addition to supporting the homeless Shelter Project.
