Customers flock to fundraisers' outdoor 'pop up' shop to raise money for Mayor of Burnley's fund
The sun was shining and it was smiles all round as a band of dedicated volunteer fundraisers got the chance to do what they do best for the first time in months.
A 'pop up' shop, hosted by members of the Burnley Mayoress s fundraising committee, drew the crowds in the town centre and raised £188.
There were bargains galore on sale and children had a chance to win a prize every time on a dice game.
Committee member Ida Carmichael said: "It felt terrific to be able to get out once again after all this time."
The Mayor and Mayoress, Coun. Wajid Khan and his wife Anam, also made an official appearance to chat with organisers and shoppers.
Coun. Khan, is the town's youngest ever civic head, and, during his year in office, he has raised money for community and voluntary groups across the borough in addition to supporting the homeless charity Shelter.
