Firefighters rescued a resident from a house fire in Victoria Road, Padiham.

Two fire engines from Padiham and Burnley were called to the incident at 3-20pm yesterday.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters rescued one casualty who was treated by paramedics and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire."
