Burnley Tesco launches new community room
and live on Freeview channel 276
Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue, Restart the Heart, The Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside, Pendleside Hospice, Healthier Heroes, TeamRise, Laura's Imagination, Foster Careline, RNLI Lifeboats, SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity, Burnley Together, St Catherine's Church, Lancashire Police Cadets and Lancashire Community Police were just some of the groups there on the day.
The event also saw the launch of Tesco’s new community room, a free-to-use space designed to give local organisations, church and community groups a place to utilise.

Hide AdBurnley Tesco store manager Ian Feeley said: "Thanks to everyone for attending, and thank you to all those involved. It has been a huge success with colleagues and customers, a lot of great feedback received around today. Hopefully the community groups have taken a lot from today, and it has been a great success for them too."
Tesco Community Champion, Mukhtar Mirza said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to all who attended our community showcase event and the opening of our community room yesterday.
“Thank you to all the community groups and their volunteers, our customers and staff, our fabulous community champions from neighbouring stores, and special guests, the Mayor of Burnley, Raja Arif Khan, and the Mayor of Pendle, Brian Newman, and of course, a great charity events supporter, the amazing Mandalorian from Star Wars.
“All of you made yesterday's event a fantastic day and so very special. A fantastic community spirit was felt throughout the store."

Raja Arif Khan, said: "First of all I would like to thank Mukhtar from Tesco Burnley, thanks for inviting us we enjoyed the day we met all the staff and some lovely people. I am very happy to have opened the community room which will benefit community groups, charities, social enterprises or voluntary organisations to access the space for free."
Mayor of Pendle Coun. Brian Newman added: "Thank you very much for inviting us, and we wish you well in your new venture. It is a fantastic community room, thanks to Tesco Burnley and thank you to all who have attended"
