Big business boom for Betty Balloon

A Chaigley-based firm has received a business boost from renowned retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

Joanne Anderson, owner of Betty Balloon, tweeted Theo about her business during “Small Business Sunday” on Twitter.

The Dragon’s Den member set up a weekly initiative which sees him retweet business successes to his 500,000 followers and last week, Joanne was one of six winners to gain a retweet.

Set up in 2010, the initiative now has 1,700 #SBS winners and supports small businesses across the UK.

Business and retail entrepreneur Theo retweeted Joanne’s message and as a result, @bettyballoon has gained 200 more followers as well as extra orders. The business will also be profiled on the #SBS website (

Balloon sculptor and children’s entertainer Joanne said: “It’s been amazing and it’s really raised my business profile. It is great to have support from Theo because he has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his followers.”
