A special harvest service will be led by Dr Glyn Price, grandson of W T Price, one of the last headmasters of the old Dalehead school.

The Dalehead Harvest Service will take place at St James’ Church, Tosside, on Sunday, September 20th at 2 pm. Afterwards there will be tea and time for a chat at Tosside Community Hall along with a photographic display of Dalehead from days gone by.

St James’ Church was rebuilt from a site further up the valley after the building of Stocks Reservoir in the 1930s. The parish passed into the hands of Tosside, where it remains today.

As this small, wayside church now has only three services a year, the harvest service will provide a good opportunity to celebrate Harvest and to meet up with old friends and acquaintances, some travelling from many miles away to keep up the tradition.

There will be a Jacobs Join tea, so those attending are invited to bring along some food to share.
