Padiham bypass tragedy – victim named
Mr Stuart Mather, from Barrowford, was hit by the cars at 5-20 p.m. yesterday at the junction close to Higham Hall Road and Fir Trees Lane.
Mr Mather was crossing the road when he was hit by a Honda Jazz and then by a Vauxhall Astra, both travelling towards Barrowford.

Hide AdHe was taken by air ambulance to Royal Blackburn Hospital but died on arrival. His dog Hamish, a Scottish terrier, also died.
The drivers of the two cars were both uninjured.
