What could I have in common with Boris Johnson, Tom Cruise and America's first female vice president? | Sue Plunkett

One thing only. We are all the same age!

Constantly taunted by my kids for being 'too old' to do this, wear that or go there I decided to see if they would say the same to other people who actually are my age. I am not going to reveal it here, but you can easily find out if you really wanted to.

The Hollywood actress is Sandra Bullock, star of such films as Speed, Cruise Control, Miss Congeniality and Gravity.

But how cool am I to be same age as rapper Andre Romelle Young, better known as Dr Dre? He is a Grammy award winner and was voted one of the best selling music artists of 1993.

I did think that Boris Johnson was younger than me because I remember how old I felt that one of his predecessors, David Cameron, was quite a bit younger than me!

The 'bad girl' of rock Courtney Love and Friends actress Courtney Cox also share my age along with one of my favourite actors, Russell Crowe.

James Nesbitt and Ross Kemp are also my age. Tom Cruise, Demi Moore Jon Bon Jovi too. And my favourite 'Loose Woman' Coleen Nolan also shares my age.

I was delighted to discover 49th vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, does too.

She is America's' first female vice president, the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history, and the first African American and first Asian American vice president.

It makes me feel optimistic that I am not 'too old' and there is still a chance for me to look a bit 'cool' or achieve something really great.

I actually think my daughter Jenny, who is 22, was secretly proud of me when I attended my first ever music festival, the iconic Beat Herder, in 2019. As I left the house in my festival blue jumpsuit she took a photo and uttered the phrase ' Ah Sue' - I detected both pride and pity in her tone!
