Wonderful tributes to Brian Bird
To cap it all, I turned to Geoff Crambie’s “Nostalgia” page in the Barnoldswick and Earby Times and, to my surprise and tearful joy, there is Brian again - once referred to as the “ubiquitous Brian Bird”, an adjective he had to check in the dictionary!
The photo is one that appears in Brian’s “Life of Brian” which was on display during our moving and loving celebration of exactly that at the Hippodrome Theatre after his ceremony in Skipton.

My sincere thanks for all the sympathy for our family and for the hospice donations, where appropriate, go to:
Colne Orpheus Glee Union (who sang so beautifully and with love and emotion);
Pendle Hippodrome Theatre Company and Friends of the Hippodrome Theatre (who provided a superb buffet);
The Rotary Club of Colne;
Colne Probus Society;
West Craven Probus Club;
Colne Ladies’ Choir;
Colne and Nelson RUFC;

Geoff Crambie;
All our friends and relations from near and far and those who visited Brian and me over this past sad year and helped to keep me going through the past few weeks.
Brian is now at rest, scattered in the wild flower meadow at Tarn Moor Memorial Woodland on the outskirts of Skipton with a wonderful view all round, including Pendle Hill, with the sound of the Bolton Abbey steam train whistle audible in the distance! His name is to be engraved on a beautiful standing stone in the memorial garden there and should be done by the end of September should anyone wish to go and visit this lovely place.
My love and thanks to you all.
