Time to wrestle control for us Northerners?

Talk of developing a “nothern powerhouse” with more control being devolved to cities such as Manchester and Liverpool is all well and good. But where would that leave towns like Burnley and Nelson?

As devolution seems to be the way forward perhaps now is the time for Lancashire towns to cast aside their differences and join forces in a co-ordinated attempt to wrestle more control of our future from those seated down south.

Us notherners have a long-held belief that Parliament knows very little about life north of the Watford Gap and we could control some local spending more effectively. Now is the time for serious and sensible debate on a united approach for Lancashire.
