ELEVEN is the magic number for keen dancer Ysabelle Mercer who is celebrating an extra special birthday today – she is 11 years old on 11/11/11.
The youngster, from Reedley, is even having a party with a number 11 theme to mark the rare event.
She will be joined by her proud parents, teachers Kevin and Kate, both 41, and nine-year-old brother Jude as well as other family members and friends.
Mum Kate, who works at Blessed Trinity RC College, said: “The party is fancy dress and people are coming dressed as anything to do with the number 11.
“She’s excited because she’s getting special attention. She always has a party, but this year is extra special because of all the numbers together.
“It’s just a shame she wasn’t born at 11-11, she was actually born at 8-08 a.m.”
Mrs Mercer said when she was born they toyed with the idea of calling her Poppy as it was Armistice Day.
Among her presents were a sewing machine and money to buy new clothes.
Ysabelle enjoys swimming and hip hop, street, ballet and tap dancing and playing the guitar.
