“I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here 2014” contestant Carl Fogarty has thrown his support behind a festive hospice fundraising event.

The Ribble Valley resident and former World Superbike champion stars on leaflets and banners for the East Lancashire Hospice Sponsor “Me” Santa initiative, which encourages people to pledge to spend a day dressed as Santa to raise hospice funds.

Many people across the area have already signed up to the event named Sponsor “Me” Santa, but more are needed to join in the festive fun to raise much needed money for the East Lancashire Hospice.

Participants can dress in a Santa suit on any day they choose in December and go to work, walk the dog, do the shopping, go out on the town, fix the car, run or walk – in fact, anything they want to do – while wearing the
famous red and white suit and collecting donations.

They can also boost their fund-raising by baking winter treats, holding a snowball penalty shoot out or coming up with their own ideas to
increase what they raise.

Those who sign up will be given a Santa suit and fund-raising pack. For more information call 01254 733411 or eastlancshospice.org.uk/sponsor-me-santa
