Michelin honour for Red Pump Inn

A CELEBRATION is taking place at the Red Pump Inn, Bashall Eaves, which has been listed in the Michelin Guide for Dining Out in Pubs 2009.

The highly regarded guide sends anonymous reviewers to sample the food, wine, beers, service, ambience and value for money. There are only a handful of pubs from Lancashire in the guide and the Red Pump is celebrating being one of them.

For owners Martina and Jonathan Myerscough this is a significant achievement as they decided less than three years ago to enter the catering industry by taking over the old country inn in the heart of the Ribble Valley. They have restored the Red Pump into a high quality pub and restaurant with guest accommodation and other accolades they have received include a listing in Alastair Sawday guide to special places to visit in England and Wales, being named as one of the top 50 pubs in England and Wales and the AA guide to Britain's best pubs.

"Getting into the Michelin Guide for dining out in pubs is a clear demonstration that our consistent commitment to high quality and value for money is recognised on a national, scale and this is just fantastic" commented Martina.

"Good food in the Ribble Valley has always been recognised, but for the Red Pump Inn to have such a stamp of approval from Michelin is rather special and we are going to celebrate rather heartily".
