The Rt Rev. Philip North, Bishop of Burnley, held the party at his house in Burnley at the weekend for clergy and their families from across Lancashire.

And the magic was performed by fellow man of the cloth, the Rev. Andy Gray from Clitheroe.

Guests attended from a huge range of parishes in county towns and villages including Colne, Whalley, Bispham, Burnley, Blackburn, Leyland, Blackpool, Tarleton, Appley Bridge and Lancaster.

Also attending the event was the Rt Rev. Dr Jill Duff, the new Bishop of Lancaster, and The Venerable Michael Everitt, Archdeacon of Lancaster.

Bishop Philip said: "I am delighted so many people came to enjoy the day. My house will never be the same again!

"It was a great event and a chance to thank clergy for the work they do in their parishes; also their families who provide tireless support.

"I'd also like to thank my secretary Louise Hunter and the team of helpers who planned the day and made sure it went so smoothly. Particular thanks to Rev. Andy Gray who brought his magical touch to proceedings with some fantastic entertainment."
