Line Dancers from Clitheroe and Longridge attended a free fund-raising evening at Clitheroe’s St Mary’s Centre organised by dance leader John Barber.

A shared table and refreshments kept energy levels high as many new dancers joined the experienced dancers to enjoy an evening of the latest and older popular dances.

Best dressed prizes went to Sheila Jones and Andrew Radcliffe with spot prizes going to Ken and Basil.

Dance leader John was very pleased with the turn out and a grand total of £432 was raised for the Marie Curie Cancer Daffodil Appeal.

For the new dancers this was their first experience of a social line dance and all seemed to enjoy the evening. John will be arranging some more in the next few months, all to raise funds for a selected charity.

The classes run by John Barber in Clitheroe are: Monday evenings 7-30 to 9-30 pm for experienced dancers and Friday mornings 10-30 to 11-30 am for competent beginners both in the main hall at The St Mary’s Centre, Church Street, Clitheroe, and Tuesday evening 7-30 to 9-30 pm for absolute beginners in the Social Room, Conservative Club, Castle Street, Clitheroe.
