Two parish councils are urging residents to comment on an appeal against the refusal by the borough council for extensive development on a major site in their village.
Applicant Stephen Chicken - SCPiBowland Ltd - who wants full planning permission and listed building consent at Chipping’s Kirk Mill and surrounding area, has appealed against Ribble Valley council’s refusal decision to the Secretary of State.
Chipping and Bowland-with-Leagram councils stress that residents’ comments deadline is September 17 and they should write to the Planning Inspectorate before then.
“Their decision will be final and will have a massive impact on future development of the village,” a council spokesman said.
“Comments previously submitted to RVBC regarding the planning application will be forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate and will be taken into account during the appeal.
“They may include your name, address, e-mail address or phone number; only provide information that you are happy will be made available to others.
“Alternatively comments can be made online at www.planningportal.gov.uk/pcs using the appeal reference number 3119224.
“The full notice regarding the appeal which gives details of the applications and the council’s reasons for refusal are displayed in the parish council notice boards.”
The hearing is likely to take place early in 2016.
The hybrid application for full planning permission and listed buildings consent is to to convert Kirk Mill and the surrounding area into a 38 bedroom hotel & spa plus wedding venue with seven holiday cottages and a Trailhead centre.
The outline planning permission for 60 residential dwellings on the cricket field and land opposite the cricket field was refused by RVBC Planning Committee in Dec 2014.
