Plans to convert a popular Ribble Valley garden centre into houses are being discussed.
Residents in Wiswell are being invited to voice their opinions about a possible new residential development, which could be built at the site of Hansons Garden Centre, Barrow.
ID Planning, who are acting on behalf of the garden centre, are holding an informal public consultation next Thursday (June 27th), between 5 and 7-30 pm, at the site on Whalley Road in a bid to gauge public opinion prior to any submissions of an outline planning application.
During the meeting, villagers will have the opportunity to look at the proposals, air their views and discuss details of the scheme with representatives of ID Planning.
In the meantime, it’s business as usual at Hansons Garden Centre , who point out that no plans for a development have been submitted.
Proprietor Chris Hanson said: “This is by no means the end of Hansons Garden Centre, it is merely a necessary step of precaution should things go bad.
“As everyone knows businesses have had difficult times in the past three years and Hansons has been no exception. But we would like to reassure everyone that it is not our intention to give up and that we will continue to do business for as long as our loyal and new customers will continue to support us.”
